Turkey's Pioneer PDV Salt Producer Global Expertise in Salt

Established in 1985 in collaboration with the Governorship of Çankırı and Çankırı Provincial Administration’s affiliated company, Çantaş Çankırı Salt Products Production and Distribution Inc., SAFIR  SALT became Turkey’s first rock salt factory. Our facility is located 4 km along the Çankırı-Ankara highway, just 130 km from Ankara, and spans a total area of 41,450 m².

Within the company’s structure lies a natural rock salt cave located 20 km from the plant — a salt source that has been in use since the Hittite era and remains untouched by environmental pollution. The raw salt is extracted without explosives, using mole drilling methods to preserve its integrity, and is transported to the factory without damage.

At the facility, the salt is refined, tested in both SAFİR SALT ’s own laboratory and internationally accredited laboratories, certified, packaged, and made ready for consumption.

SAFIR SALT closely follows technological developments and continues to grow and expand its production capacity. The company operates in accordance with international standards under the supervision of official authorities — prioritizing environmental protection, occupational health and safety, and quality management systems — all for the benefit of people, nature, and the national economy.
